You're more than welcome to volunteer Gary and offer to organise one?
From previous experience of running them, the cost would have been in the region of £2,000. Trying to get 50 people paying £40 each would have been extremely unlikely!

I agree with Polo the cost would be astronomical. In addition some fans would make a weekend of this fixture (and the Weymouth one) going down Friday coming back Sunday. I do believe if there had not been an industrial dispute on the day of the Gosport game a lot on our coach would have gone by train and the coach would not have run.

Anyone interested in going then the cheaper route is Waterloo to Torquay via Exeter (not the direct Paddington trains). Still a bit expensive but doable in one day.
I would be more interested to know if a coach is being planned for any upcoming games such as Dover, Braintree and Aveley which are all midweek so ideal for a coach.

Quote from the company who did the Gosport run was £900

Just looked at the Maidstone highlights from the weekend and thats how the ground was set up, so expect it to be seating only. I will dig out the travel rug and thermos.

And to think the kettling at Borehamwood was bad. If this is how it is, may contemplate getting a couple of home tickets.
I know what you mean Wallop, but they are pretty hot on away fans down at Torquay. I remember we got searched last time we were there & their policy was no away fans in the 'wrong' end, with the threat of ejection being made clear. Even though we used to get shoved up in the corner seats from time to time, (I recall Wrexham, Macclesfield, Chester & Aldershot, to name a few), it wasn't really too bad & I actually agree with this policy at Torquay. There's no way I could keep schtum though, especially if we scored - you know what it's like!
What I noticed is that the prices for the away block seating (£20 adults) are £2 more expensive than the equivalent block for home supporters (£18 adults). We pay identical to having a seat in the centre of the seating area. I'm surprised they can get away with that under league rules.
Torquay United manager Gary Johnson has called on his players to crank up the entertainment for Saturdays crowd at Plainmoor as the Gulls welcome Welling United in National League South.
The attendance will be boosted by hundreds of fans using discount tickets as the club hosts one of its regular Community Days. Members of local sports clubs were eligible for the offer. (They have a one off deal where local sports club members can attend for £2.)
The away end will be full of enthusiastic young supporters, and that always creates a bit of an atmosphere, said Johnson. Its great for the club to bring the community in.
This could be the only time in Welling's history where our end in away match is described as being full of enthusiastic young supporters!
Got to be, otherwise their own policy would be breached. Home fans might be in the seats adjacent to ours with maybe a couple of stewards and/or sheeting slung in. They let us in the clubhouse though, last time we were there.

Thanks for posting this. With a gold card it actually made it a lot cheaper. Going through Exeter hadn't cossed my mind.

We went that way, as we did to Plymouth for Truro. It was a lot cheaper but took a very long time.
