I may be wrong, but I think Danny has recently revised his formation to a 3 1 5 1 formation, with Amadou taking on the sole holding midfielder role, freeing up a holding midfield player, and that freed up player is used in midfield. Defensively we are hardly letting in any goals since this change.

My memory of last season was of Ade up front on his own, and our clueless manager having the amazing tactic of knocking long balls up to our single striker, who wasnt that tall, and was closely marked, so he hardly won any balls in the air, so that tactic was a total waste of time.

Danny also prefers to play one up front, but the problem is it is as effective as Warren's one up front tactic. What we have been crying out for all season is a guy to play just behind our striker, to act like a link between midfield and attack, just as Amadou is a link between defence and midfield. Personally I have always thought Antony is an answer to our striking issues, as when he gets in forward positions close to goal he scores (Hattrick against Dartford) so would be perfect just behind a striker, but he is used out on the wings or deep holding midfielder, so is hardly ever in the box, so shoots from distance, but rarely scores from distance, but shooting closer he is much more effective. He is tall and quick and strong, I can imagine he would be great at using his height to win the ball in the air and giving knock downs to Tristan or holding onto the ball to lay it off to oncoming midfield players.

Even at 2-0 up on Tuesday night, it felt like we needed a third goal to make the game safe. Had we made it 3-0, we would undoubtedly have left Crabble with 3 points. We need to finish teams off, keep going forward and show no fear. We will win soon and hopefully the club can give Danny Bloor a little help, wherever possible.

It's a grand old team...
