Fans said on Twitter they are sorry Odusanya has moved on, but I don't mind his departure as he didnt seem to give a captain's leadership on the pitch, hardly scored or looked likely to score, and didnt have an eye for a pass for the strikers, which isn't good in a central midfielder. He is good at breaking up play and playing in tight areas, but wasnt creative enough, not enough end product.

It's a mistake to let Tristan go. Against Slough he had a red mist, I was amazed he wasn't red carded at some point. But next game he scored a hat trick against league leaders Yeovil. After his unfair strangling red card (There is no FA rule saying strangling an opponent is a red card - relax, just kidding) I looked up his disciplinary record, that was his first ever red card. It is noticeable both guys with recent red cards are released, but that was out of character for both. Tristan scored something like 7 in 18 games, the mark of a good striker is they can score in an unsuccessful side. His experience at higher levels means his thinking was a step ahead of some of our players, they didn't see the good runs he had made. A shame he couldn't stay longer to teach them to give him the assists he needed for his clever runs.

Didn't see enough of Alemanji for an opinion. But in football as one door closes another opens, and I liked Rod Stringer catching Sonny Fish who looks very mobile, so could be hard to defend against.

To correct my comment we'd made a mistake in letting Tristan go, when I wrote the above there hadn't been a club announcement he'd gone, or that he'd gone to Maidenhead in the higher division, in fact there still hasn't. So now knowing that I assume it's more he wanted to go than we wanted him to go.

Sometimes in footie one only realises afterwards what one's seen, and it's like that with Tristan and Kain, as both have moved to National League, so without us necessarily realising it at the time when they were with us we had a National League standard attack. Such a shame for us they both moved on, they both scored well with minimal supply, so just imagine what they could have done with Rod who has brought in lots of creative midfield players and enormously improved us in attack.

But departures have hidden benefits, it's good for our credibility in attracting new players if we show we are worth joining as we develop players who then move upwards, like Dipo, Daniel, Kain, Tristan. A scout sitting near me saw a couple of our matches recently, interesting to see how players are in the shop window like that.
