Happy Friday Wings!

As we approach the final game of a season filled with ups and downs, Id like to give everyone an update on what's been going on and what we can expect as fans going forward. This season has been a mix of two halves from where we were in the midst of relegation to being one of the most in-form teams in the league, but most importantly, we are starting to get our club feeling like a community again. The mistakes made in previous years, and this year have certainly not been forgotten, we are working so hard to make sure these mistakes never happen again. As for the end of the season, wow, sensational transformation off the pitch. We are in such a strong position due to the hard work of all involved. The bar takes have been sensational, the atmosphere around the ground has been nothing short of sensational. We have proved what can happen when we stick together, all drive forward together as one unit. It is imperative we remain consistent with this fantastic attitude we have all adopted!

As for updates, I am happy to confirm that Park View Road will be open for the European Championships in the summer. After the atmosphere created last week, you can imagine just how good it will be if England brings it home!! Bars will be fully stocked and food also available, there will be some moments to look back on and say look what welling achieved.

Secondly, I have been pushing, and will continue to push for fans to get involved in the decisions around the club and to have a direct line of communication with the board. Going forward, there will be opportunities for fans to vote, give suggestions and create innovative ideas to improve the matchday and midweek experience at the club. An example of something I am putting forward is us fans get a say on the renaming of the marquee. We want to feel like the ground is ours, and by giving fans the opportunity to be involved, it creates that sense of community and togetherness again!

Also, as we all know government inflation has been a big part of our lives. Next season prices will have to increase in order to cover the additional costs that the cub faces. It must be said that prices for matchday admissions and season ticket prices have been frozen for 2 years, and the rise in prices is less than current inflation. For whom it may concern, the additional payment to sit down in the stand will be scrapped from next year to avoid turnstile confusion, and instead anyone who purchases a ticket will have the right to sit down if they wish.

Another reminder that on the 28th April Welling are holding a legends game vs Erith and Belvedere, which will be followed by Welling (W) vs Dartford (W), with the North London Derby being on the TVs. Food and drinks will be available as usual, and all money raised from the ticket admissions will be donated to the Chartwell Childrens Cancer Trust.

Finally, I would like to personally thank each and everyone involved in and around the football club, from players to staff to fans. What we have achieved in the last 2.5 months is beyond sensational, the atmosphere around the place is something I haven't seen in years! The support I have received for these posts have been amazing, and I promise everyone that communication will be improving. I am delighted to confirm that the Wings Update will also feature on the clubs website, yet again highlighting how we want to create a feeling of togetherness and community around the club. Again, a massive thank you, let's bring on the new season!

See you in Slough!!

Will there just be one price for season tickets, or are seats more expensive than standing seeing as anyone can sit there.

Very pleased about no longer charging extra for seating. By doing so we became one of the top 6 most expensive grounds in the league. Believe the only other club to charge for seating was Dover. A WUSA committee member badgered the fans board member and the committee agreed to push to drop the charge.

If anyone ever actually paid at the turnstiles for seating they were mad because nobody ever checked. Anyone could walk into the seats and sit down. Ask the 100 odd Barnet fans who did so and then stood up all game.

Good news about sitting / standing charges - it was a bit annoying.

I see our early bird season ticket post on socials (which is great the offer is out so early) has a terrace price and a seating price. How does that sit (pardon the pun) with the "additional payment to sit down in the stand will be scrapped from next year"?

Could we get an answer on this, as I'm planning on renewing my season ticket, but would like to know if the difference between standing and sitting is being scrapped for season tickets before renewing?

It would be fun to have home and away preseason friendlies against Dartford, plus these would be money makers as they'd be well attended, if Chatham Town don't win the play off could we have them as a pre season game, as it is good to have local Southern rivalries instead of all our league games against Northern teams, like St Albans and Hemel. Cray Valley are looking very good for promotion, they could also be a good preseason friendly team, as they are local so could be a decent crowd.

Under normal circumstances pre season friendly games should be Home against higher opposition and Away against lower opposition. That gives the supporters of the lower league team a chance to hopefully get a decent support from the away following and aid their bank balance. Obviously Rod has many contacts and I expect, together with the board, has been planning pre season for a month or two. It would be nice to visit somewhere new in pre season like Deal or Rusthall, but I would still be happy to visit Cray Valley, Beckenham and of course Cray Wanderers at their new stadium now they have left Hayes Lane. Rememer one of the important parts of pre season is to ensure no injuries are picked up. I still remember playing E&B away when Brian Stratham got his injury and was unable to play.

Egham Town were also formed in 1963 so could be added to the list

The only benefit that I can see is that by purchasing a seated season ticket you can reserve your seat.
