Hi all, as part of a new marketing approach by the new operational board, we are proposing this question to all fans to give feedback.
What does Welling United mean to you?
Over the last 6 to 8 months, we have been very clear that Welling is nothing without us fans, and now its our turn to contribute to a project that will be circulating the new marketing approach for the club.
Ill start. As an 18 year old fan and member of the board, Welling United offers me a place of community and togetherness, where I am able to contribute to the success of my local football club whether it be voluntary work or singing on the terraces.
Please below contribute below to our new approach and give us your say on what Welling United means to you!
Welling Utd. A community of friends. A place to watch and enjoy football without all the Premier league style rubbish. A local football club to love and be part of.
I've been going to Welling since 1982, the club means the world to me as it's been a place to meet up with mates and have a beer and a chat and watch the type of football that is sadly disappearing with modern technology etc. It was also a safe place for my elderly father to go and enjoy a day out without the threat of trouble. I've had so many happy times at PVR and have enjoyed loving the club through thick and thin.

Welling to me is growing up in my mum and dads shop. Listening to my Dad giving stick to the poor lad (a young Barry Hobbins) putting up Welling Utd fixture posters in their window; seeing red and white scarves pass by on a Saturday afternoon; me wondering where away teams such as Runcorn or Telford were in the world; and reading out of date match reports from the piled up collection of old Mercury or News Shopper newspapers that we used to wrap up plants and other fragile items in that we sold. I dont live near Welling now, but its where I grew up, and its where I was taken to see my first game by a shop customer who noticed my boredom (Nigel Ramsom's Dad) and became hooked. I dont have any connection to the teams I live close to now so coming back to Park View Road is important to me. It just proves theres no place like home.
Watching Welling since the early 80s and legends like Nigel Ransome etc has been great fun.
Cup games against the likes of Blackburn, Reading and Gillingham were genuine highlights.
Supporting a local team at a decent level is far more enjoyable than following a Football League club with segregation, tribalism and everything else that goes with them.
