Just listened to Rods post match analysis.
The pitch was very dry with the ball holding up, therefore fast along the floor football wasnt going to happen.
Think our back four and keeper look very solid.
Point a fair result, but hate these grounds with running tracks.
Very positive start to the season, and when you look around at the results, looks a very open league with calling a result very difficult at the moment.
Overall, a good display against Hornchurch and would agree that a draw was about the right result.
Fantastic turnout from the Welling fans today. Those boys know that we are fully behind them. Rod is a grafter and we did really well to get four points from Farnborough at home and Hornchurch away.
So sorry that I was unable to make the game today. What I got from Nigels excellent commentary (again) was that we are very solid and no team will pull our trousers down this season. A point away from home against a newly promoted team is more than okay. I could hear Rod belting out instructions all through the 95 minutes some of which I wouldnt let my Nan hear although shes been dead for 50 years. Im loving Rod Kevin and all the massive efforts from them and the team. I feel that they love being at Welling Utd. Big thanks to Howard too. Geeser loves our club
Nigel and Mark's commentary and Rod's post match interview give a very clear and honest picture that echoes the fans' view. It is so enjoyable to see this season unfold, as the commentary said, this looks a wide open season with lots of teams evenly matched, so who knows, us being in the mix for a play off spot could be on.
We've actually got one of the lower attendances in the league, so may well have a lower budget than others, but it is great how Rod has cleverly got such a battling squad together. I'd assumed lots of our squad moved up to this higher division for the first time this season, but looking more closely, actually only a few are stepping up, nearly everyone already has experience at this level or higher, and Rod getting such an experienced squad like that on his budget is so impressive management.
A scrappy game but a well deserved point, although we had a couple of chances to win, especially with Reece's miss at the end.
I look forward to seeing the highlights, especially on our disallowed goal. I was standing in the same corner where the linesman was and thought it was a very close call.
There's no concerns for me in defence, or midfield, we do look solid. But up front we still lack that bit of quality (Strange saying that after scoring 4 on Saturday). We've missed absolute sitters yesterday and at Bath which had they gone in, would mean another 4 points on the board.
Chiori was superb again, as well as Winfield.
Credit to the players and management staff on a successful weekend. If you had offered me 4 points from the two games this weekend, then I would have taken it, especially with the form Farnborough were in.

Another very solid performance. I also thought a draw was probably a fair result and it was a good point away. I did think the offside was tight and I did think we were onside. I agree with Dean we could have nicked it at the end with Reece Grant's effort. I also agree our defence and midfield are solid. I have had concerns as to where the goals would come from but on Saturday I thought both Martell and Anointed looked lively and played very well. Yesterday was hot and two games so close together could be the reason the game wasn't as fluent as Saturday. I think and hope their partnership will flourish. My man of the match was Dave Winfield I thought he marshalled the defence expertly.
