Very disappointing, first 10 or 15 minutes was terrible, then we seemed to wake up, but all too little and too late.

Im beginning to wonder if this season will be just as per usual, that is on the edge of relegation.

Like a lot of others I left soon after the 4th went in; did we have ANY shots on target?

Not much to say. Worst performance of the season. Obviously BW defeat was heavier, but they were a good side who played well and Chippenham are bang average. Too many players off their game today and we really missed Lankshear at the back. I wonder if the added pressure of a new and untested goalkeeper meant the defence weren't fully focused.
I thought TJ was a bit unlucky to be hooked before half time. I've liked the energy he has added in midfield since his return from injury. Maybe the management were worried that his head had gone and could have done something stupid to get a red card??
It will be interesting to see the response on Tuesday night.

Chalk one game Cheese another. Somewhere in between most of the time. How to pick the bones out of that will have me scratching my swede for a good while. Wheres the morphine nurse?

Nobody would have predicted today's thrashing. Similarly, it was rather surprising when we beat the, then, league leaders Farnborough 4-1 earlier in the season. It is incredibly frustrating to think that the vast majority of our team for these two games were the same players!

We are now facing the league leaders on Tuesday and the second placed team on Saturday.

Let's see how badly our lads want it. We really need to win one of these games. They must fight for the cause & not sling in the towel.

Hopefully the club can give Rod a few quid to, at least, get a half-decent striker on board. Shades of last season.

I don't think that was the worst we've played but the constant worry is we don't look like scoring. Counted 4 attempts today, 2 from set pieces. Agree we look very lightweight up front but equally are they getting anything decent to feed off?

Lovett aside I don't think any of the squad are indispensable ATM.

Errrr you seem obsessed Danson, maybe retirement has affected you badly!

You also seem to think that terrible performances are acceptable and that conceding 3 goals in a few mins is ok.

Those kind of results in my job would see big changes!

Remember it was your comments that prevented the club from being helped when they needed it a few weeks ago because you wanted to attack again, very very sad!

I fully support your work, in fact look forward to your reports, I was concerned when you were not well recently, and commented to that effect, however on the flip side you seem to want to constantly have a dig...but if that makes you happy then carry on

 

Still not quite sure what happened yesterday in that first fifteen minutes to be honest!

Having kept two clean sheets and got two victories in the previous three league games I was very surprised to see us abandon the back three and switch to a back four. Also I can't work out why our top scorer is consistently relegated to the bench while his replacement (who scored his one and only league goal on the opening day of the season) is constantly preferred..?! This isn't a case of being wise after the event as we were discussing this in the marquee before kick off!

We should give some credit to Chippenham who were very quick and incisive with their passing and movement and took their chances although they were helped by some non existent defending. In the first half we were static and passing it sideways with nobody running off the ball. Then in the second half we had everyone running after the ball like they were in the school playground...?! Despite more intensity we didn't force the keeper into one save. Also can we cut out the penalty area theatrics...we've had three players booked for diving this season and some of those appeals in the second half were laughable at best.

I looked at the programme last night when I got home. Apart from the 16 selected yesterday we had Lankshear (suspended) and Lovett (injured) On top of that we had at least 6 more players who have played in league games this season. The squad is clearly bloated and in some areas it's quantity over quality. I thought we had found our best formation but yesterday it seemed not. Sometimes you can have too many players to select from and that brings more options and more alternatives and perhaps that's making things worse rather than better...?? We're a third of the way through the season but there seems no continuity in selection.

We now face the first and second in the league this week and need a vast improvement on what was served up yesterday to get anything out of those two games.
