Loads of effort, but we created no real chances.

We are just not good enough.
We need some young bite type players that want to impress.
Unfortunately, we appear to carrying too many journeymen.
I really feel for our manager who (following last season) is worth more than this.
We lost some quality, and unfortunately, hasnt been replaced.

Playing Crossdale is inexcusable to be honest. Might be time for a change.

Not a bad summary. We appear to have a good owner but not a sugar daddy with crowds below 500 what can you do. The phase "punching above our weight comes to mind", as an old and seasoned season ticket holder, we have faced our current "predicament" many times in the past, but most of the time seemed to have come through.. We are at present sadly lacking upfront, not strong enough in midfield but IMO, mostly, competent in defence. We do not have an academy so there is nothing coming through so we must rely on Rod to do the best he can with the money available. My only observation is that (injuries notwithstanding) we do not seem to play anything near the same side week to week. I have no answer but it is still early in the season but we must all rely on Rod to pull something out of the bag.

Their first goal was a loose ball in the 6 yard box. They wanted it more and stuck it away. Their second was a chipped ball into the 6 yard box. Their fella wanted it more and headed it in. Do you see where Im going here. We go into tackles the ball pops out who picked it up. Them. We seem second to every loose ball lately. There wasnt one calm calculated through ball passed today. Did their keeper make a save? He was beaten by a huge deflection. Apart from that we had nothing. This is going to be another long long struggle. Will Rod pull off another miracle? I had reasonably high hopes for this season. Hoping for a season where we didnt have to look over our shoulder. I should have known better.

Another painful watch today and another self inflicted defeat. Having scored a fortuitous goal I was hoping we could hang on to the lead until half time but we ended up going into the break behind..!

And then the sending off has killed us and it was clearly two yellow cards ironically both due to being hassled by a striker which never happened all game at the other end of the pitch. Having started with only 10 players going down to 9 was a step too far although I can't knock the effort in the last half an hour but we never looked like getting an equaliser and, for the second home game in a row, the opposition don't need to wash their keeper's kit.

I could copy and paste the next bit from the last two games. The squad is too big allowing for too many changes and no continuity. Five changes before the Eastbourne game and another five changes for this game. Definitely a case of quantity over quality.

Last but not least anyone calling for a managerial change needs to give their head a serious wobble. The man has pedigree at this level and was a hero barely six months ago. If we can move players on (easier said than done I know) and improve the quality then we're still more than capable of climbing the table but changes need to happen and quickly!!

Absolutely. Rod Stringer will fix this. By February we will be mid table. Have faith.

A spirited and strong 2nd half display. I felt Dave Winfield was a little unlucky to get sent off. It was a 50/50 ball and the players came together. It was right in front of me and I thought the referee should have warned him and said one more and you're off. With 10 men we did well not to concede again. First half we went ahead with a lucky deflection but couldn't see it through not even to half time. Once again the problem is our lack of goal scoring ability. I don't believe we will score more than one goal in a game at most currently so as soon as the opposition score 1 or 2 goals I think we're going to lose. I desperately want to be proved wrong but believe this division is a step too far for our forwards. As been mentioned with our low attendances and budget can we obtain the players good enough to score goals at this level? If anyone can save us it will be Rod Stringer and Kevin Watson they are the best assists the club have. Experienced and proven at this level but they can't work miracles. If they can find a striker who scores regularly for a budget we can afford we'll be alright.

Verdict: It could be a long hard winter but we need to keep believing

We have a decent striker but they opted to start a useless charthorse instead.

Our defence and midfield are also poor so the forwards shouldn't take all the blame.

The decision to bring the Aveley game forward to the Friday night, giving them an extra 24hrs rest, makes me question our Management Teams attention to detail. Rod is a great motivator but they are making some strange decisions.

Rod seemed to think we played well in his interview and that we were unlucky. I'm not so sure, I thought we were well beaten and the red card made absolutely no difference. But we need to stick to a formation for the players to have continuity. We have gone 4-3-3, 5-3-2 and 5-2-2-1 in the last 3 games. Now Winfield is suspended will we switch to a 4 at the back, only to switch back to a 5 for the crucial Weymouth match? This doesn't agur well for organstion and team performance.

I was hoping the highlights would show the last couple of minutes where the ref gave them a free kick when their player went down like a lead balloon and wasn't even touched.  He even took a sneaky look up at the ref! When will refs learn that they get played like a fiddle - the precious little footballers are just 'pretending', it's so obvious it's embarrassing.  Then he blew for a free kick when their keeper punched the ball and toppled over his own defenders. I despair.   Didn't impact the result but this season the officials seem so naive.
MTC starting remains a mystery, he must be banging in 25 yard screamers every training session.

Id like to hear more team selection questions in the post match interviews, Rod clearly has his reason for picking the team the way he does so would be nice to hear.  Personally and like many others I dont believe Crossdale is worthy of a starting place currently.

Could someone in the know please advise what has happened to Jack Redfearn, striker signed recently?

Is he injured, left the club or not very good?
