Good luck today afraid I cannot make the trip as 7 y.o. grandson playing first ever game and I will not be back in time. Lets hope Rod and the lads can get back to winning ways from 3 p.m.

That was a result I hadn't expected. Before the match I would have taken a draw, but by the end of th match would have been disappointed with one. Great three points, but we never seem to make it easy for ourselves!!!

We did not seem to have any real bother until after we scored our 3rd goal. Then it was squeaky bum time right to the final whistle. 3 points though. Well played lads.

Great result and some good attacking play the first half. Still need to work on the defence but hopefully we will take some positive play into more games. We shouldn't be scared to get the ball moving forwards.  Several good performances from several players.

Having our goalkeeper back, and starting with a confident centre forward helped steady the ship.
Set ourselves up well with a heavily weighted defence allowing Slough to push forward, leaving gaps for us to counter.
This involves a lot of effort from midfield in order to achieve, and they worked very hard doing so.
Chucks at CF is so frustrating at times.
Just appears to need to be told what he needs to do too often, and half the time unable to do so.
Following our recent form, could see it being shaky should Slough get one.
After the second it needed a degree of professionalism to calm things down
That is exactly what grant provided.

Oh, and Slough is a proper $hit hole.

A good day out and a very unexpected result against a team with a very strong home record.

Was very surprised when we saw the line up but credit to the coach for coming up with that game plan. The midfield three of Kelly, Cornish and Kennedy all played well and the formation allowed Kennedy to get forward far more. I haven't been convinced by Redfearn but he was good yesterday and at last we started to take some shots rather than trying to walk the ball in and that's how the first two goals came about. Last but not least that might be the best game I have seen from Chiori Johnson in a Welling shirt.

However a note of caution here. We still look suspect defensively and we we still appear to panic when the opposition scores. We have the second worst goals against record in the league and while I'm sure the return of Lovett will help with that stat but we still need a big improvement in that department. At times yesterday we looked very passive and the attackers were bullying our defenders rather than the other way around...??

On to two more very important games this week and no reason why we can't carry on the momentum from yesterday. Well done to the away fans yesterday for their contribution as well.

Up the Wings!
