I have noticed over the years that in general the drummers and the fans who accompany them from visiting clubs are youngsters.  I hate to say it but isnt it time our old fuddy duddy ageing fan base allowed even encouraged drums on the terraces. We have to get some atmosphere into PVR. Encourage younger fans who like that sort of thing. The ground is dead. Bleeding to death imo. Lets allow the few younger fans we do have to breathe some life into the place. Just saying.

To quote a fellow Wings stalwart...."you don't take a football to a gig so why take drums to a football match..?"

Drums at football can f*** off in my humble opinion

Call me an old fuddy duddy but I cannot stand the drums especially the Tonbridge one. Local residents came over and complained about it. If we want to lay a 3G pitch and have heavily extended use of PVR then we need to ensure residents are with us. Having our own drummers could rub the locals up the wrong way and give them grounds to object to our application. Ok residents were there after the ground and we can say tough they have no grounds to object However having spoken to an ex chair of a planning board in a neighbouring borough I am told irrespective of who was there first councils mainly side with their voters.

In theory it's a terrible idea, in practice it's also a terrible idea.  Drums tend to try and camouflage an already flat atmosphere and just create a monotonous din.  At my stag do in Weymouth the Welling fans sang to a Weymouth drummer 'you can stick your f**king drumsticks up your a*se'.  That was 20 years ago this year.  Same rules apply.

Handy for smuggling beer in grounds like Torquay.
Could have a drum sponsored by the micro pub with a tap built into its side.
Perhaps an entire drum kit.
