I see that a new club called AFC Greenwich Borough at the Footscray Road site has been allocated to the Southern Counties East. Is this going to be the name of the breakaway Welling United academy?
Looks like we have our name back. Assume we'll look at setting up our own now? Launch next season along with poor new 4g pitch?
If we are do that then it needs to be set up very soon. School leavers will start making their decisions in September this year so the club would need an agreement with a college or school by then unless it's done in house.
Then we also need to re-build a youth structure from u7 all the way through to seniors for boys and girls plus a Women first team. This I would guess is crucial to fund the plastic pitch.
