Massively frustrating result today. The 1st half apart from a mini spell in the first 20 mins was an absolute disaster with the red card (which was a red), penalty and then the poor defending for the 2nd goal making us look completely exposed.
But then I thought the players absolutely gave their all in the 2nd half after what was seemingly a massive wake up call at half time, and virtually dominated the 2nd half constantly marauding around the Dulwich penalty box looking and finding openings with little end product except for Shakpoke's goal (though it may have deflected). Pax hit the post from a free kick, but when that didn't go in, you felt as if we would be punished for our high line and we did, with the absolutely shocking defending for the 3rd goal.
In the end a fair amount of positives to take from it. Yes, winning games of football is the only thing that people care about in the end, that is the nature of the beast, but it does not overlook the fact this team will continue to improve with time.
Onto the Slough game next week and hoping for a good result. Up the Wings
A spirited performance and we played some good football at times. If we play like that in other games we'll start getting some points on the board. Maybe a few too many changes tactically but we were so close to being 2-2 it would have paid off. Again, a lot of Wings fans there who stayed behind to appreciate the teams efforts.
Mental crowd of 3000 plus I dont know how they do it. Having said that its like a social day out so many barely watched the game
Its basically a massive beer garden with football being the side show, but if you come with a Pink and Purple scarf you are fashionable. Give me a crowd of 500 genuine football fans rather than that mass beer garden any day. The amount of times I heard whats the score

Im sorry the ground and fans were unbearable I left at 60 minutes, absolutely packed solid so could hardly see any of the game whilst having people in large groups constantly walking in front of you and around you. I had a group of 8 behind me who didnt watch one minute of the game and seemed more interesting in discussing foreign politics. From what I did see in those 60 minutes, once we were down to ten men and 1-0 down the writing was on the wall. Hopefully next week a win against a struggling Canvey can finally kick start the season properly and get us going, should we lose next week I think its time to seriously consider axing Martin before its too late

So many conversations going on where I was sitting that I couldnt hear most of what the tannoy person said. Still I know someone had a **** journey on the central line, someone else had a good holiday and one bloke turned up at 2.30:and spent 45 minutes in a bar

I don't think it is time to be having those sort of conversations around the manager's future left. Quite frankly, this ownership is hedging their bets on Martin working out well at the club, otherwise why would they give him a 2 year contract in the first place. That would be a recipe for disaster considering the ownership has admitted they are trying to save every penny possible.
The game against Canvey is absolutely massive. They have not won a single game all season, and the pressure will be huge on us to go and get the result because we are at home and we have not scored at PVR in 3 games.
I think what will make and break the season is the cup run and the games vs Canvey and Ramsgate. Lose all of those, and Martin is surely on the brink at that point. A 2nd relegation would be absolutely catastrophic for the football club, maybe one I am not sure it could recover from, and the games there as I said on X will be make or break.
Reading above, is it sour grapes or jealousy that causes some to despise the apparent success of the Dulwich Hamlet fc business plan?
What wouldn't we give to have 3000+ coming through the gates most matches, leading to:- (guessing here)
£25000 gate money;
£18000, (I guesstimate probably much more at £6 pint) taken over the bars, with a reliable regular supply of decent local ale;
?? £'s over food counters, the Greek street food was excellent;
Queues at the club shop before, during and after the game;
All of which allows the team to play on a more than decent grass pitch, nourished by automatic sprinklers pre and mid match to keep it lush.
Does it really matter that 2500 of those present don't watch a ball kicked and instead spend money, and chat for two hours and be unaware of what is happening on the pitch? Hardly, "I'm sorry the ground and fans were unbearable", IMO. Just switch off and concentrate on the ball.
Surely, number one is getting people through the doors, (lower admission prices at DH) two, getting them to spend, and three, entertaining them so they come again. DH off the field does all this and presumably adds to the team budget, increasing the chances of success on the pitch.
Apart from the result, me and my Wings friends thoroughly enjoyed our day out. How we wish this off field enjoyment, (and on field of course!) could be repeated at PVR?
And talk of the managers future. FFS stop it. This was my second Wings experience this season and I have to say things were much improved from the first, even more so when considering we were one man short for 70 minutes, the team battled well to stay in the game, and at one point reduce the deficit. There is a game plan and the players are fighting hard. We have a rookie manager finding his way, there are now encouraging signs. Six matches played of 42 is no time to judge. As the old saying goes, unless its obvious, (it's not yet to me) don't look at the league table until Christmas!

People can have an opinion? you don't have to label anything as sour grapes, it's non league at the end of the day it's nice to see any club do well with money regardless which club if it's Dulwich, Dartford or Margate good luck to everyone! a friend took me to Dorking last season who hit attendances of 2-3000 some games and I thought it was brilliant
I think you missed the point of the ground being so packed out you could hardly see and it doesn't help with large groups walking past every 30 seconds?
I've been to every game this season and as previously mention the side are looking much better, but as I said if we continue to loose and can't pick up results in the next couple of games then questions have to be asked when October comes and you've only won one game.
I'm behind Lee Martin and i'm convinced wins are coming

Totally agree! How we would love to have those type of crowds and revenue.
