255I am concerned as I keep reading about good players going to other Conference South teams and nobody is being signed by Welling. Are Chris Moore, Martin Carthy and Che Stadhart still with the club? I hope Ade keeps Chris Moore but I get the impression that he does not rate him! Guest needs to learn from the experience of Chris Moore as he is still untested at our level.
I also read that Ade Pennock wants a bigger budget but I would like Welling to continue in business not end up like Hornchurch and Crawley!
This is good opportunity for Ade Pennock to show how good he is on his "inadequate" budget!
He should have signed a good striker to partner Danny Kedwell, as Danny had to do it all on his own up front, instead of signing John Guest. We should have kept Lee Shearer as we let in very few goals before he left for Folkestone. It was obvious from early on that Welling needed a ball-winner in midfield but Ade signed Rowland - what a poor signing!
I see that we went for Drury (my personal choice of those released by G&N) but again wage demand was too high.
Ashley Sestanovich has negotiated his way out of his contract with Farnborough. Didn't play in either match against us last season and opinions on him vary. Formerly with G&N -I wonder what Ade's take on him is?
Worrying that we have no news of contracts being signed by those Ade wanted to keep but perhaps news will filter through this week as I believe Ade is back.
More worrying is the fact that the customary Charlton friendly has not been confirmed. Bearing in mind the recent highly publicised closer links between the Clubs I'd have thought that we would have heard about this match long before now.

Is Adie still at Welling? The last we heard from him he was having a go about wanting more money and that he has had some harsh words with the Chairman.
We have done nothing since the end of the season except let players go and watch all the good players get snapped up.
Very weird seeing as its in print that this is the season we will be aiming for promotion.
I haven't come across anything about harsh words or Ade wanting to leave/leaving. I'm sure Ade would like more cash but ...
It's about time non league football stopped being the plaything of those glory hunters with a lot of spare cash and little or no interest in the game. Their cancer is rubbing off on the players who not unnaturally want to maximise their earnings and therefore settle for lower league football for purely financial gain.
Where are the youngsters with ambition?
Where is the sporting challenge?

I feel your right Bruno. There needs to be a balance and we have always see GH as a cautious individual. I feel its important that we have continuity in the club and his comments in the local are important. Any new manager will always ask the question, how much is in the pot for players? not that I am saying that Ade is gone anyware. I still have confidence in him that he will make the best of the resources available to him and get the best from his personnel.
Bromley are apparntly splashing it about a bit, having got some money from the bloke who bought Palace befire Simon Jordan. I dont think I need say anymore
Someone text me earlier and said that Ade has been head hunted by Bromley, i told them to fick off. Are you eluding to that BK? Or have you heard something similar?
Is Ade still at Welling and Happy? I believe i saw Adrian in the local rag say the Club are backing him after he had some strong words with them (about 3 weeks ago?), but since then, players have left and Adie's gone AWOL! End of April till June and nothings happened. Less than a month till pre season, the silence is deafening
I think you'll find that Ade has been on r and r for the last couple of weeks and that is why Matthew Panting has been speaking to Barney and Graham Hobbins.
Lets not start panicing yet. The season ended 5 weeks ago and pre season training probably starts in another 4 or so and we are therefore about halfway through the closed season. Ade has had his holiday and I expect news to start filtering out this week.
I would not be surprised if Bromley wanted Ade but its a move in the wrong direction. In my opinion he needs another season at our level to establish himself as a good candidate for a National Conference or even a League Club and I think that is his gameplan.
