Not surprising. Possibly another clear out of players. With a little luck and an abacus, someone could tell us how many players we've used this season so far in matches that mattered (Danson or Ollie?)

Easy peasy just look at the highest number on back of shirt then add keepers. In this league they have the stupid rule you cannot re issue a squad number. So for everyone that has gone so far the club has a pile of shirts gathering dust. Also means clubs had to spend what little money it has on buying new shirts. If anyone knows a sure fire way of getting the number off the back of a shirt let our kit man or me know. Have tried hairdryer, iron and scraper they do not work.
Think we are upto 30 as that is what Kai has

I cannot see that number 6 was ever allocated to anyone.
Martin's sacking was inevitable after Tuesday, but this is the real test now. Who will the football club bring in that will be any better than the other terrible appointments made in the last 6 years.
People have gone for dark horses such as Quinton or Kev Watson but that is totally unrealistic for what we need. We need to go for someone who is either very experienced or someone who has shown massive potential at another club, not just a rookie such as Lee with no experience or those have not bore much fruit after past excursions with the football club.
Realistically we are not going to land an ideal appointment. Anyone we appoint will carry huge risks and will be plunged into one of the hardest jobs in non league football at the minute, with very little patience from much of the fanbase.
We could go for someone like Jamie Coyle from Whitstable, but that is massively risky considering he manages at step 5, and would probably struggle to adapt quickly to a new team at step 3 with so much expectation.
This will be a crucial appointment, but a huge huge risk.
Getting Rod Stringer back would be a pointless exercise in my opinion. Is Steve King going to come to a club that are in a state.
A left field suggestion - Tony Russell. Knows the League after doing well at Cray Wanderers and Lewes, and the club need someone who can steady the ship in the short term.

What a load of rubbish! Brad Quinton won promotion from the Conference South to the National League with Braintree. He managed Welling, coming in at December during the season stopped by Covid, and turned us from a relegation battle to the top half, and if the season wasn't stopped for covid, we may have got into the playoffs. But he's mot experienced enough according to you?
We had Jamie Coyle as manager for a season, and we finished 10th. I personally wanted him to stay for another season, but Goldberg binned him off as he wanted to take charge again.

Maybe I was wrong about his Welling stint but that was over 4 years ago mate. Look at his record with Hemel in 23/24 and Hamlet briefly last season, absolutely abysmal. Left Hemel after they had a horrendous losing streak at the start of 2024, including to losing to Bloor's Welling of all teams and then barely scraping Dulwich above relegation despite coming in January losing so many games in the process.
He is not a bad manager, but his recent record is horrendous. We are not in any position seeing that to take a risk on that record.
I know King had a decent financial backing, but he achieved 3rd spot and a promotion final in the only season he had at the football club. Feeney absolutely blew it with probably more. There are many alternatives to Quinton, and anyways I am almost certain he is not even being looked at by the club.
I don't think it will be King, as Howard said at one of the meetings before appointing Martin that Steve King would not get the job because he wants too much money and he was talking 10% of every players wages for himself. Personal I find that hard to believe.
What an utter mess - look at that list above and yet we are somehow asked to trust the board as if they really know what is best for the club?
I said at the time - Martin was a disaster of an appointment. The comments from other clubs said it all - people were stunned we took a chance on him. Not managerial ilk at all, in fact something of a joke. Of all those failed appointments Martin will prove to be the most damaging. Having been relegated to our lowest level in 40 years it needed someone with a big personality to inject some confidence and life back into the place. Instead we appointed a man who could barely look the cameraman in the eye, signed a bunch of no marks (nearly all of whom had to be released weeks later) and was a jibbering wreck after a few games.
I welcome Rod back but my god have we handed him a difficult set of cards here. Still can't believe we did the Lee Martin thing - absolutely defies belief and could ultimately finish the club off if we can't get out of this relegation situation
