Not just The Sun. Guessing by Monday morning Welling United will be truly on the map. Mr Maxwell has history behind him. And Father Christmas and all of our up and coming supporter base were supposed to be attending today...

And let's wait and see what has happened before making judgements - the guy who gets beat up always gets to say his piece but who knows what went on before that

Apparently a headbutt but what caused the headbutt...you don't just randomly walk up to someone and headbutt them so more to this story

Rumour has it that Femi Akinwande moves from us to Potters Bar, with gentlemans agreement that he wont play against us in any upcoming fixtures.

Potters Bar select him anyway today against Welling.

Ryan Maxwell takes exception when he sees the teamsheet and proceeds to allegedly break the man's nose with a headbutt.

From what I can see they've never had any public issues or even been in the same league too much... I think we just have this curse of not being able to have good things...

I believe the Potters Bar manager was Manager at Faversham Town for a couple of seasons(22-24).  Bearing in mind Ryan was Manager of Sittingbourne perhaps there was some history?

Andrew Mountbatten Windsor is currently looking for a job. Perhaps he might apply for the mangers job ( when it inevitably becomes available). Apparently he has friends in high places who could bring in sponsorship.

Too reliant on youth I hear. Not what we need in our situation!

Majority of people think Sammy Moore is a c*nt but you dont act like that, regardless of whats gone on. Utterly pathetic, club is so far in the mud, its beyond belief.

A shameful new low which is quite something on a list of lows that has been building for years - all of this on a day that was supposed to be a Christmas family day and a celebration of the legends that once wore the shirt with pride. Honestly this club......just unrecognisable from those glory days

People need to tread very carefully here because this is active GBH against another league manager, and it could lead to serious consequences for what looks like to be either Maxwell or McMahon that did it.

Regardless of the Gentlemen's clause in Femi's move to Potters Bar, there is no defence for headbutting another person absolutely no way here. This has ruined a massive opportunity for more community exposure and sponsorship through this petty and impulsive decision by someone who represents our football club.

I won't speculate too much beyond this now as the details get a bit murky, but Howard has a decision to make whether to stick with the current management team likely responsible and risk an unknown amount of reputational damage, or cut cords immediately if the case escalates, but I do believe that would be a last case resort due to potential financial and sporting costs of doing so at this time, so we have to wait and see.

More facts will come out today, and then hopefully we can come to an appropriate settlement and re arrangement with both clubs to sort it out.

One normal day at Welling please eh

To be serious. How can the club take any blame for what is alleged to have happened. Mangers are contracted to the club hence they are self employed contractors. The club cant shadow them everywhere. They are trusted to get on with their jobs without interference. What appears to be an altercation between two grown men has ended up getting physical. Something seriously offensive must of been said for it to get seriously out of control.
I can tell you if this had happened at a rugby club there would be handshakes all round and everyone would have had beer or two after the game. Footballers and management teams are all drama queens who over react over the slightest physical brush. Refusing to play with total disregard for their own fans who travelled let alone everyone else who were there is pathetic and strengthens my drama queens point.
Ill probably stop going to watch football now. Its panto season so Ill watch Jack and the beanstalk next week. Pretty much the same really.

Agree on the fact this could have been played down.
Who rings the Police over a couple of adults having a set to.
Strikes me as someone who can give it, then runs off crying when a response is served.
I would hope that as a minimum the PB manager doesnt press charges.

That's the way I see it too - the reason above is just scummy behaviour and who knows what was said during the argument

It's funny how if that happened on the pitch then it's just a red card but off the pitch it's a criminal offense
