Why is crucial information in previews always at the bottom? This should have been up the top to make sure people don't miss it and should also be announced on the Socials as well.

The upstairs bar alone is not practical. The club should at the very least ask E&B to use their bar. This is a big match and the club should be encouraging fans to attend and have a beer before the game. Have the club given up and accepted relegation? Have WUSA voiced their opposition to this? It's a disgrace.

How do you get to the upstairs bar without walking through the marquee? Which the supporters paid for.

Go to the main stand down the alley next to the Marquee, climb up the flight of stairs to your right and you will reach the door to the Upstairs Bar.

100% Chris. Now I am not entirely sure about the context of the private reservation for tommorow's game in both bars, and for all we know it could be bringing in the club some money, but to do that at the expense of fans going for me is out of order. We are the lifeblood of this club, saved it when it nearly went out of business in 2010, paid for the Marquee and yet we don't have access to 2 of the bars in one of the biggest games for years at PVR???

And on using the E/B Bar you are very correct. If the upstairs Bar is totally packed tommorow, it would be a very useful 2nd outlet to try and prevent serious bottlenecks when it comes to serving pints. I have seen the upstairs Bar for many years, and it still packs out even when the other 2 bars are open. Imagine the queues that would be there tomorrow if that was the only bar open.

Erith have taken some of the best liberties in football out of us over the last 25 plus years. Yes, they signed a lease that was one of the worst deals in history from our end and it is binding, but surely for all they have gotten out of it they would help us in this regard if we asked.

Absolutely gobsmacked. And to put it at the bottom of the preview is outrageous. This should be front and centre of the preview and out on the socials so people know about it. There will be fans who don't know till they arrive, so vital notice is passed out early.

Unbelievable.

I think most can guess the reason why the bars are shut tomorrow and I dont think its for lent. Yet again the fans mean nothing if a pound note can be made.

And the Board members have made it no secret about how reliant the club is on Howard for his money to keep the club afloat which is fair enough. But at least build a bit of good faith with the fans whilst we are still not self-sustainable in a financial sense. Just ask Barnes or Matt and they would tell you the club is not in the best of financial situations at the moment. If this was some meaningless Velocity Trophy game most fans would get over it, but this is a 6 pointer league game, maybe one of the most important in recent history and only 1 bar is available for it.

People can say, 'you are overreacting' but this is beyond believable. If we lose this game we could be on the cusp of Step 4!

I just want better for the fans that come. This is out of order.

I thought the Muslims only used the Marquee not the Wings Bar itself? And I thought it was only on a Friday afternoon?

I believe that is typically the case as they have been unable to use their mosque which I think is somewhere near Woolwich for some time, so the club kindly gave them a space every Friday at the Marquee. I have to add they are really polite and tidy with the space, and they leave in a timely and respectful manner.

But to allow an event like this to happen over the needs of the fans on a 6 pointer matchday is out of order. How has this been allowed to happen?

The constant disregard for fans blows my mind. How long do they think they can take liberties before people stop coming back? And then they wonder why people choose to drink next door at The Guy.

Barnes keeps wittering on about community initiatives and attracting new fans. How about looking after the ones youve already got?

Not sure what the fuss is all about. We had NO game planned tonight so the club leased the space. Good business sense.   Can't go back on their word or the booking and the upstairs bar was adequate anyway with the attendance. It was a re-arranged game after all.

I disagree. It's a football ground first and foremost. Areas being shut off to fans for functions isn't a good experience and at what other club would this happen? Assume the club had a say in rearranging this fixture, if the booking was so important suggest a different date for the game.

 Total shilling for the club

The game should have taken priority. Or just make sure the rearranged fixture isn't on that day if they are more important than the actual football

I can't climb the stairs due to a hip replacement, so I had to go without a drink before hand. In future I will be using the guy for a drink, so Howard can get his in Muslim buddy's back in whenever he wants. The Hobbins will be turning in their graves if they knew how the club is run now. They don't care about the fans, just how to make money for themselves. After this season I won't be going to buy a season ticket. The club is run by idiots.

Totally agree with the doctor! The club did not consider people who are unable to climb steep stairs or care! Sounds like Howard and co would rather take money from other sources! Then catering for football fans! Would be great if everyone stop using the over price bar in plastic cups and enjoy a better pint in the local pubs! Won't be renewing my wusa membership!

Totally agree. I wonder if those who are complaining would still have complained if the hire had been for the British Legion or Salvation Army? I suspect not.

Why don't we open the ground up for the homeless in that case. I have finished with this club. To think that I put Over £2000 in when we were in trouble when the club were in trouble with tax. And I didn't asked for it back ! I was on the minimum wage at the time, and had a family to support, and a mortgage. The club is going down the pan.

I knew that was coming

Red herring of an argument because noone has given a **** before yesterday. It's just because on a big game day at a football ground, the football fans of that club were put second. Everyone would have moaned no matter who it was and complained

The club should have made sure the game was another day if their marketing commitments were so important

The fans of any club would slaughter them for doing this

Spot on the club says they welcome all fans of all backgrounds but then discrimination against people who can't access the upper stairs bar! We could have easily put this game on another Tuesday or Wednesday there still plenty of gaps in the calendar

A compromise would have been to offer E&B to open their bar gratis of any in kind benefit to Welling.
As others have mentioned, not for me I am afraid.
I stand with a group that (in part) were physically unable to get to the upstairs bar.
No season ticket next year regardless of where we finish.
And judging by the lack of comment from WUSA, you can poke your membership next season as well.

They would have probably been more compromising to the situation and just had the indoor bar area.

This can drag on, but the bottom line is, could you see similar happening at any other club?

no, me neither.

I most certainly would have done as WUSA paid money for that facility to be used primarily for its own supporters on a match day.

The charities that you highlighted Dave would presumably be using the facility for a charity raising event, not religious worship. I have contacted the Council to ask if the club have the specified permission to allow this as this is a change of use. I've also been told by a local resident that there was a call to prayer .The website www.bexlyislamiccente.org are fundraising £350,000 for a Masjid with a deadline of March 15th.

Then I suggest you have a word with fans of Barnet Football Club who have often lost facilities on a Saturday to hold wedding receptions while games take place. Not so much recently but still happens according to a BFC fan.

I may be wrong but doesn't the match have to be rearranged for a date within four to six weeks of the original date? I don't know how long Ramadan lasts, but I'm not sure that Welling had an option to delay it beyond the ending of that.
