Apparently to wind up and close after this season.

Bloody awful, no matter which side you sit on the fence.

Down to new landowners not wanting to renew the lease. Heard the other sports clubs there could be in same position. I do hope Bexley throw out any planning applications for non sport use on the site.

Just read the sad news.

You have no hope that Bexley council will turn down an application for housing to be built.

His last facebook post on this stated the new landowner has not responded to his invite to meet. I do hope with all the negative press going round they accept his offer.  Even the Wapping Lie Machine aka The Sun has picked it up on their online platform.

I believe the site is designated Metropolitan Open Space. If it is shown as that in Becley Councils local plan it does make it harder to seek change of use for development according to a former Greenwich councillor I asked last night.

Lot of posts on facebook and forums asking why VCD cannot groundshare. As far as I can see the nearest suitable facility that currently does not groundshare is Ebbsfleet unless someone knows anything closer.

You have to ask yourself why they wouldn't groundshare / try to keep going. They might be brassic, and they probably can't get a crowd in most games to make it worthwhile. Clubs closing down isn't new - culture as we know it is being eroded and VCD is another terrible but inevitable loss.
