Due to the nature of thread drift, and also the fact that real ale seems now to be more of a fixture than a one-off, "Real Ale returns" seems the wrong title. Here's the new thread, and will be kept up-to-date.
Friday 2nd October / Saturday 3rd October. Two casks available for Quiz Night, AFC Whyteleafe and the 17:00 England game on the TV. These beers are:
- Kent Brewery Old Skool Bitter, sponsored by Village Wines (Bexley).
- Pentrich Brewery Murder House hazy pale, sponsored by The Westwood (Welling).
I am also delighted to announce, with thanks to Marie and the bar team, that we will have a special event on Saturday, October 17th for Burgess Hill Town. The event is called Wings, Strings and Real Ale and features not just an early opening for the 12:30 kick-off between Everton and Chelsea on TNT Sports; not just the Burgess Hill fixture; and not just three real ales but also live music from Graham Corbould, who will perform an acoustic set from about 6:30. Obviously, friends, family and more are all welcome to stream into the marquee when the match finishes and the gates open if they want to partake in the music, and the beers! The beers ordered are:
- Bexley Brewery Red House Bitter.
- Kent Brewery Green Manalishi Pale, a fined (clear) pale from the Kent Green Hop seasonal list.
- Liquid Light Day Tripper hazy pale.

Sponsorship of casks is just £20, and is critical to ensuring the ongoing success of real ale, particularly given WSG1963's hard work in procuring the items needed to have it regularly available and perfectly cool.
