Hi everyone
Hope youre all well and in good health!
I just wanted to send you a message as I think youve been brilliant and I wanted to thank you on behalf of the players and all the staff!
When I first came here 11 months ago the club was in an awful place on and off the pitch. There was no connection or feeling and no real togetherness. We were in a deep relegation dogfight and for a while there, many had written us off.
However we managed to make a fight of it and through sheer determination and the great support we started to receive, eventually made our stamp on the team and connected with you guys and achieved the goal and stayed up!
It was tough, really tough, it was a 5 month battle but I always knew that it was worth the sacrifice and what was possible when we secured our status. During that time I could see and feel things change in a positive manner and the club became a place we looked forward to coming to.
That was the reason I came to Welling.
Days like yesterday at Chatham, we may not have got the result we deserved, but when I looked into the stand and saw so many Welling fans singing and cheering on their team in awful conditions it was all so worth it!
We are now up near the top of the league, the support is growing, there's smiles on faces and people are coming back to the club that they once loved being part of. Its so important you know how valued you are to me and the Team. We are now 12 consecutive games unbeaten at home in the league with 11 wins and a draw. Thats a fantastic record and you guys are seriously playing a huge part in that!!
I have a vision at Welling. A club that everyone feels part of, included and a place you want to bring your friends and family. A place you feel welcome and a team and management you can talk to and approach. I certainly am happy to engage with you all and I know the closer we are the better we will be! A second family if you will.
I tell the players constantly how important you are and who we are playing for. They are a really honest, humble squad and they do really appreciate everything, I promise you.
If we continue to be together we can and WILL get to that vision. The past is done, we are here now and we can make this club absolutely fantastic together!!
Thank you to each and everyone of you. Spending hard earned money and more importantly your time and energy. We wouldnt be where we are now without it!
