You need to see it from Kingsmoor side, they are getting no funding off Welling united and what happens after a year if Hobbins says (as hes done with previous youth and reserve teams) "Thats enough we aint doing it no more"
Kingsmoor are keeping their identity should the club leave them in limbo. IF Welling truly want them then its simple, pay for it. Same old Welling im afraid doing things half hat, i for one dont blame kingsmoor at all.
If Welling Fund it then they can truly be Welling United. Of course this is different to the Under 18s in the KYL but also similar in its own way where they are called Welling united but the club has little or nothing to do with running the set ups.

Without wishing to upset anyone, i hope you don't mind me saying that last years U16's, this years U18's, have had no association with Kingsmoor at all and it was a little disappointing, for me personally, to see the Kingsmoor name on a badge that i know the U18's take a lot of pride in!
It would be real shame for a debate to start rumbling over names.
Many clubs have a history they wish to preserve (Arsenal one example who retain ref to their roots in woolwich in their badge). There are many others to.
It should not be misunderstood either that Welling United Youth was created as a partnership between Kingsmoor and Welling FC. This is wholeheartidly supported by Graham and we have already made significant strides forward, for the benefit of everyone. Particulary the young players.
We now have 18 teams participating in the leagues, all playing in Welling United kits (1st team replicas) and the majority of players have their passes into home games. Some of these are likely to become the die-hard supporters of the future.
I can only see both parties benefiting from this cooperation.
The whole point is a partnership between Welliing United and Kingsmoor gave birth to Welling United Youth. Woolwich Arsenal were still the same side when they moved over the water, they didn't go into partnership.
The name on the mitoo and selkent websites is Welling United and not Welling United Youth. Why is the name Welling United Youth not used? I personally believe that the use of the name both in the Leagues and on the badge are fundamental elements in the establishment of the partnership.
I am all for expanding the opportunities for young people of all abilities to play football and wholeheartedly support the Welling United Youth initiative but lets not be shy about the use of the name in areas where it matters.
I've expressed my view on what I consider to be a fundamental issue, which I have every right to do as do others if they so wish.
