Good result but we were pretty awful until the last 20 minutes.

They took the lead in the 9th minute then indiscipline resulted in two of theirs being sent off.

Riddle was sent off for a second yellow after following through for the eighth or ninth time. Blind Pew running the line didn’t see any of them though otherwise he would probably have gone earlier..

I said at the time that the ref would balance it up soon but didn’t realise it would be a minute later. Perkins was late in the tackle and probably deserved a yellow but the ref waved the red. Just after Perkins tackle, Quintin kicked Perkins right in front of the ref and deservedly got a red.

This was all in the first half and the second half was all Welling attack. Eventually we wore them down and we grabbed all 3 points.

Our first shot on target or off target for that matter resulted in our first goal by Keds.

Carthy got the second a couple of minutes later and Benjamin scored a wonderful curler. Keds got the 4th on 90 minutes.

If Brainless had a bit more discipline though they could have nicked it.

Their little number 7 was excellent. Reminded me of Danny Slater a bit.

Oh yes, their manager was banished to the stands at half time for what I am informed was for punching a hole in the refs dressing room door.

So you can see where the indiscipline comes from.

The least said about the first half the better - the 'Welling Werewolf' provided more entertainment before being evicted for encroaching onto the pitch. From the Braintree point of view I thought Russ and Billy were both in fine form.

I would have liked to have seen us being more direct in the early stages of the second half but once we had equalised I don't think the final result was ever in doubt.

It was yet another Jekyll and Hyde performance and I await Ade's comments with interest.

As far as the Perks sending off goes I disagree with Alan S, I think Perks action was deliberate and in retaliation and that is why he walked rather than receiving a yellow.

Borg, a thoroughly unsporting individual in my book, also refused to shake hands with Ade who repeatedly offered his hand in the middle of the pitch at the conclusion of the match.

Totally agree with the comments made. In my view Perks should have seen yellow, but hey that's the way the game goes. Mooro needs to be careful with a couple of off the ball incidents - as captain he can't let himself get wound up.

I thought Benjamin on the left was a good nove, and Bod always seems to play better on the right.

The jury'sout for me on Ellis Green - he makes some good runs but he's a bit lightweight in my opinion, lacking where challenges count.

An awful first half, but nice to seem them get it together - it almost seems that we don't get going until we score!
