Kens Comments:
"This was a real test for us against an excellent Fisher side who like ourselves try to play football. Without Rishi who was on a coaching course, we put in an excellent performance particularly in the second half, where having gone 2-1 down just after the break, we managed to miss 4 one on ones, hit the post, and have one cleared off the line. With Fisher scoring 2 more goals in the 89th and 93rd minute, the scoreline does not do our performance justice. However full marks to the Fisher Academy side for trying to play football on the ground, and not reverting to long ball. What it proves to us is that we can compete with the very best and I was delighted with our performance, even in defeat".

Bruno’s comments
Despite Fisher controlling the match in the first half Welling managed to score first against the run of play. Fisher equalised in the latter stages of the half and Welling managed to prevent them from getting another before half time.

Welling stepped up a gear in the second half and despite conceding an early goal this half they stuck to the task producing a much more even contest. It was however one of those days when nothing goes right with Welling missing several good opportunities to score.

Without wishing to take anything away from Fisher, who were confident and cool and composed on the ball, it was a closer match than the final result suggests.

A good match for the independent spectator but somewhat frustrating for Welling supporters.
