With the cold weather now coming, how have the club changed their marketing?

Are they not open tonight for the England game? Never thought about open the bar for the Danson Fireworks (Or if there isnt any, their own display?)

Have they considered a pool team or quiz team. Pool team should have 20 people drinking for the night.  Quiz team? How about having an open EVENING, watch players train.. have adverts in press saying open evening, get parents to bring kids, target the schools. Get Adie to give a talk along with Ken who is the manager of the 18s. Obviously this needs to be targeted and not just oh we will open the gates and see who turns up.

Sure its abit of effort and not everything will come off the bat and go for 4 BUT i dont see much moving the club moving forwards. And believe me they need it. Great cup runs, Up there all season and the Budgets cut twice, including while we were in the play offs. Somethings not right is it? We need to keep Adie and Phil at all costs.  The Manager, Assistant, Coaches and players are busting their nuts off. I can see partly what the WSU are trying to do BUT no answers come from them, people leave them and they lose money. PLUS it is connected to the club and not democratic. They have had ample opportunity to reply to polite questions on here and they have declined.

My two main critiscms of the club are lack of ambition and unprofessionalism.

Someone must have the answers and it most definitely ISNT get behind the WSU, they have under several guises had years and it just aint worked, theyve lost money, just thrown money at the club and not been supported by the fans. The more i look at Havants supporters set up etc the more i see it as good. A supporters association will only work when the club do their bit. It seems that the fans have just said they wont do anything so why should we, the fan fighting and sabotage of WUISA by WSU leaders hasnt helped either.

So does anyone have any answers. PS i dont see any abuse in my post so any responses should be civil and add to the debate imo.

Any chance of a sensible thread?? or are people too frightened to comment?

JGFC,

You raise some valid points. Personally I dont see Ade and Phil hanging around too long after this season. I think they are destined for higher things and can see them managing at Conf National level.

I think the club struggle with things like opening the bar for events as we are at the wrong end of the high  street. Passing trade will normally be at the other end.

Whislt I am a season ticket holder of about 13 years standing, I dont go in the clubhouse after games-reason I find the beer awful. I would rather visit the Turnpike for a cheaper more palitable pint for my post mortem of the match

Kids for a quid and thay get a ticket for a free bag of chips. It wont give the club anything today but when thay have to pay and bring their kids in ten twenty years time it will.

Yes I think you are right Adi and Phil will not be waiting around.Sadly any player worth his salt who wants to achieve anything will not wait around either.Where do we go then.

Budget cuts mean one of two things no money or no ambition. We have shown we have had the money but.................

We will finish about the same as last year. How many players contracts are up at the end of this season.

I rest my case

Yeah weve been the kids for a quid route good idea. Fans can see the club rotting in front of our eyes. Anon, would have been nice if you had registered as some will say ANON could be anyone.

If you dont bust your nuts in this world you get nothing. i can just see last season come back again, another reduced budget and players lose morale.

The players and Management are doing the fans proud! And as ive said before play for the shirt, the manager, his staff and the fans. NOTHING else matters.

The club could be AMAZING and i know many feel the same way.

The High Street stuff is just an excuse, oh we have Charlton and West Ham too. The kids get tapped up, Reserves wont help us (Erm why does every manager disagree then!!)

Adrian Pennock and Phil Handford have the club in their hearts, I was absolutely shocked how passionate and enthusiastic Adie is and i know barney of old.

We MUST keep them as they can take us higher. NO DOUBT in my mind. But if the budgets get cut, resources are poor, Training grounds lost, No ambition or professionalism shown by the Owner we are stuffed.

So how do we improve matters given the handicap we face?  Lets hope the players do the business on Saturday. Hardly motivational that a big fa cup game and great trophy run ends in budget reduced . I can say this Adrian Pennock will go on to be an outstanding success and if on part of that journey he takes us with him then great. The Club just doesnt know how lucky they are to have the fans that have stuck it out for decades and yes i mean those behind the goal!

HOW do we help Adie and the players ? Throwing money at the club is not the answer in my opinion.

If the support for the club thinks the money is not going where it should and Adi and Phil are not happy with the budget.Simple ask Adi what player he wants and the money raised goes towards his wages.

The Hobbins don`t touch the money everyone is happy!!!

Sounds a plan unfortunately many fans sold their souls to get in bed with the club, so they havent got a voice.

Best thing i think is if a Trust was set up as an independent association and dealt directly with the Manager. Lets show Adie and Phil we are bang behind them. And try to help them.

Anon are you one of the regs who feels unable to identify yourself? Hopefully the WSU disbands nd everyone can sort something out despite the past and try help Adie and Phil. Im aware the WSU gave Adie a few grand to sign a player but i guess when he never signed that went into the budget.

LOL we could do a west ham tyoe thing, sign a player get his wages sorted £10-15k and loan him to the club lol. But atleast it would be a quality player that Adie wanted.

That could well be the answer. It solves the problem ref budget and towards the end of the season when the Hobbins reduce the budget an injection direct from the supporters club could help we hope.
