"Young Gills defender Luke Howell has joined Folkestone Invicta on a one month loan deal.
Gills manager Ronnie Jepson has opted to allow the teenager to link uo with the Ryman Premier League outfit until early December, to allow him to build up vital match fitness."
Its all a bit sad if as was speculated earlier that personal differences have seen Luke end up on loan to a Ryman Premier side when he could have come to PVR. For me the decision should have been made and on purely footballing grounds and not whatever the Gills differences with Ade may be (one sided it has to be said after Ade's attempts to get Luke back to PVR) - the priority is surely getting Luke back to match fitness at as senior a level as can be negotiated if, as the remainder of the news item implies, it is to get Luke into the first team.

Blame those at Priestfield. Luke was welcomed and wanted at Welling, Pettyness on Gillingham's part has meant he is playing Ryman and not Conference football. Scally wake up mate. adie served your club well. Give him a testimonial and dont stop YOUR talented youngsters from playing at a decent standard of non league to improve themselves under a bloody good Manager and Assistant.
Good luck Luke and who knows we may see you in January or Next Season.
IF Luke is unfortunate enough to be shown the ever revolving door at Priestfield, lets hope he decides to come to Welling.
