A good result but thought we were not the better team, second to most balls and gave them too much room. Still three points in the nag and I'm not complaining and a good set of results over the xmas period.
Anyone know why JT was not playng or news re Keds being stretchered off(dent in the floodlight fund?). With knocks to Perks and I'm assuming Che we could be struggling for next week assuming Daisy is still suspended
JT was injured in the warm up - don't know what he did but Hydie was excellent but 2 or 3 really good saves and punched/caught everything else that came near him.
Heard in the bar ater that when Keds had the shot, he kicked the other players boot and need a few stitches in his instep as stud went through it. Not too serious though
We were awesome today, one of our best performances since losing our Conference proper place, particularly bearing in mind the busy Christmas programme. Fisher behind after 10 minutes were bound to have a fair amount of possession having to chase the game but the longer the game went on, particularly 2nd half, the more comfortable we looked. Everyone played their part but Hyde and Lewis were outstanding. We could have had more goals and were well worth the win in the end. Today should be a day for praising the team without any carping they gave everything and won plenty including the game!
I agree - excellent team performance. Fisher started brightly but looked very ordinary in the second half. I thought Hyde was excellent - two experienced goalkeepers makes so much sense. The only disappointment was the lack of atmosphere.
I know I'm not really in a position to comment having been 140 miles away in bed but 354 is a bit of a disappointing turn out even if it was for Fisher.
A bit worrying given where we are in the League but then again we do have a reputation for ****ing up on big days in front of big crowds at home so maybe not such a problem!
My biggest concern having been at the match is that is that was 354 I would hate to see a 4000 sell out. I can only assume our ground is rather tardis like. Todays 354 was far bigger than the Trophy crowd about Basingstoke which was presumably in truth about 37. I thought it looked more like 864 my dad roughly 902, but he's partially sighted so he may have missed up to 17.
Surprisingly if thats the case i am going to back the hobbins over this. A lot of clubs are at it with gates and if theyve managed to syphon off a few k and that money goes towards the floodlights then thats superb! as will allow more of any keds fee to go on the squad etc as we push for promotion.

From the official site: "The official attendance for the game was 954".
Superb performance against a good Fisher side - all round I thought we were very - don't get me wrong, not brilliant throughout but overall we were. I have to agree that Lewis and Hyde were outstanding, once we get Dailsy back things could and should get better.
I think the typo originated on the Sky Sports channel and was carried over to the Conference South forum. I think to be fair the gate was added to the original match precis on the official site subsequent to many looking at it, I certainly don't recollect seeing it when I first saw it.
Better attendance than last years best gate which was the 905 at the Weymouth match and has brought our average attendance up to 623 which exceeds that of last season. Lets hope we can keep the attendances up above the 600 mark as Ade and the players deserve higher gates.
I thought we played very well yesterday and was impressed with some of the first touch passes from Battersby.

Thought Harper was excellent yesterday and when Battersby came on both yesterday and last week away at Fisher, he won just about everything in the air and certainly showed some lt touches. may be short of match practice/fitness but looks like he will be good coming of the bench for 20/30 mins each week until he gets his sharpness back. Excellnet towering header for his goal, although he it did keep us in suspense as it hit the post and then rolled along the line before going over. Also a mention to Che who scored and then was sacrificed because Leon was getting overrun on the left for the more defence minded Des. He looked gutted to be withdrawn and hope his confidence has not been dented. Fair play to the management though for making an early decision and doing something about it.
Im sure Che is confident! hes one of the team and a vital member for us. he will put in match winning performances for us and has done a job on the right as well as up front.
We certainly have some great attackers in the squad and special mention to Mark Goodfellow who has got over an illness and played out of position and done the business.
The lads are pulling together and i am sure they will carry on doing it. They are a team and a bloody good one.
Come On You Wings!!!
