I am so tired of the manager's crap. Let's look carefully at what nonsense he comes up with this time, no real difference to his nonsense in all the other games.

Warren Feeney: Were lacking in confidence at the moment.

Why is that, crap manager? Maybe you slagging off your players may undermine their confidence? Have you ever bothered to think about that? No.

"Its just about putting our finger on how to fix it."

Well, you are supposed to be the manager with the job of fixing problems, You came up with your typical buying time nonsense on Tuesday, grimly and determindedly saying you would go away and think about things. And the result of your careful thinking, Its just about putting our finger on how to fix it. Still no idea of how to fix things. Fans have been giving the answers for months, but the arrogant manager dismisses the vastly more experienced and knowledgeable fans as just noise. The captain has seen the answers, but the manager is still trying to work out how to fix things.

"Getting that first goal would make it a lot easier for us."
Earlier in the season we kept scoring first goals, but are set up so defensively by the mentality weak manager we go into our shell, the opposition score, and score again.

"We have to start taking our chances, collectively, and were getting punished for not doing that."
What chances? We hardly have any shots on target, and someone who understands football would know you cant score if you dont get shots in target.

"We have to get ourselves going again. We have to look forward to the game and pick the boys up. We need to replicate those away performances at home."
We have won 4 home games all season, so no wonder attendances have dropped. But away we have won 6 games out of 19, hardly better than our home form, it is another myth our away form is much better than home form.

More delusional time buying nonsense that the stupid owners keep falling for month after month.

It is great the match reporting and interview questions honestly reflect the real problems we are facing, just a shame that honesty isn't matched by the manager, who with 1 win in 12 games STILL pretends we are in a great position.

Feeneys 'preview' of tomorrow is a absolute joke as usual. Dismissive of incidents Tuesday and his usual arrogant self about everything else.
In one way I'm gutted I can't be there tomorrow, I tried everything this week to get the day off, in another maybe its a blessing.

Awful pre-match interview from Feeney. So dismissive about Tuesday night and seems to think fans should just move on from it.

I know that in my job if I meet paying customers and they were giving feedback on how they think we're performing, I'd be out on my ear if I called them clowns, threatened to kick them in the head of tried to fight them them. Somehow I don't think that passing it off as "just passion/emotion" would save me at the disciplinary hearing. Why do Welling United think they're different?

Disappointed, but in no way surprised by the lack of statement and action following Tuesday night.

I doubt that Feeney reads this stuff but just in case he does.....it's very nice to be referred to as the "younger generation" having turned 50 recently. Whilst I wasn't one of those who got 'a bit excited' at the stadium the other evening (thanks to you I won't be attending any more matches), I can understand their attitude towards you as you've spent a whole season sneering at them with some falsely held superiority complex - nasty, aggressive, conceited, condescending, patronising, dismissive are all adjectives I'd use to describe most of the interviews I've heard over the past few weeks. So I almost certainly would have been as excited at 50 as I might have been at 18 - abuse people of any age and expect some bite back.

Good luck to the owners who sit idly by defending your honour. They wanted crowds of 1,000+ and marketed themselves accordingly. Sadly like any organisation looking to develop its brand, its as good as the people who run it and you've chosen a truly nasty piece of work to be your front man (and not even a successful one!), hence the reason why you'll carry on driving crowds in one direction.....downwards!

I wish the team luck for the good of the loyal fans who again will give up their time and money and who deserve better. As for the manager and the people that back him, you'll be getting everything you deserve its another defeat in front of a dwindling, angry crowd playing the sort of football that wouldn't look out of place on most Sunday league pitches.....long ball hoofing, with a mouthy aggressive joker in a tracksuit blaming the referee, encouraging a good punch up afterwards, then talking afterwards like you've got the nous of Mourinho!

Good post.  Articulated better than I could.  Whatever the next few results I cannot condone the current manager representing the club.

I won't be attending today due to the events on Tuesday and the complete lack of responsibility for the situation shown by the club.

After all the off-field comments there is actually a game of football at 3pm today.  Can understand those not turning up but for those that do Gavin and Nkrumah returning is one bit of hope.

Welling goalkeeper today is Yusuf Mersin. Myles Roberts is injured and Oxford recalled Barnsley.

We finally got a bit of luck!

We have a tough last 4 games so it's important that we get the job done in the next 3. I thought Parry and Dunne played very well for us today and Pattinson was outstanding in the first half.

Todays victory should I think mean that we will get away with it again this year. Thank goodness for small mercies, I echo Treacles sentiments a few posts above though. Lets not now try spinning this as progress or success or get any delusions of grandeur..we are in a great position, Im a born winner REALLY???

The manager, the brand of football, the recruitment of the players, the ground, the match day experience, the enjoyment have all been very very sub standard and struggling to stay in this division perennially is an abysmal state of affairs for our club and totally unacceptable.

Long term are things going to get any better? Do we have anything to be excited about??? It all seems pretty grim and futile at the moment certainly, unless things are going to change dramatically then my God we can hardly look forward to next season with much enthusiasm and/or belief.

Thankfully it looks like we will muddle along to survival but Id like to know what the long term plan is for the club to be moving forward in the next few years because something needs to happen because like many many others I wont be bothering until things change.

Pleased at least that my old die hard pals who still find the enthusiasm to attend have been rewarded today and can sleep a little easier tonight albeit scant consolation.

Huge win today in the context of things, one more and that should do us. Have to just take survival for this year even though it is massively disappointing after the start we had, hope Feeney goes in the summer and we can re group and go again.

Feeney is such an unlikeable character when interviewed. He is so arrogant whether in defeat or victory. At least it will be a happy household tonight.

It was far from pretty but pretty doesnt matter at the moment. So well done to the players, I clapped you off.

Chi got a great deal of support at the final whistle. Hope he is here next season.
Started very well and hitting the underside of the bar, showed intent.
Went a bit flat as the game went on and thought a draw was on the cards,
Deserved winner in my opinion.
Payne celebrating on the pitch had all the hallmarks of a JohnTerry introduction.
Seem to play better without Payne.
Leave this one to you JH.
Walking home with a spring in or steps is something I have missed for some time.

Oh, and that Charlton bloke up front was very average to say the least.
George Alexander would have made him look like a boot cleaner.

Don't agree there, Gavin worked incredibly hard, much more than Payne, but maybe not as skilled. Gavin caused there defence loads of problems, leaving Azeez with space. With Nkumrah in the team, we'd have so many out balls. Parry MOM for me.

Started the first ten minutes with some good play and ended the final ten minutes with some good defending. Didn't get caught out, some clever play and no red cards.  Not a great game for the majority but an important win.

Hey, come on guys, no need to talk about my views, I am just like you, a fan, no better or worse than anyone else, ok, I talk more than anyone else apart from Alan, but I keep a low profile.

Today? WOW!!!!!

When we played Taunton in the first half I thought this is the best we played since Oxford in September. OK, they got a late goal, so the result didn't reflect the performance, but the performance was really good, all those things that wrong before (not enough players pushing up to support attacks) was fixed in that game.

We had a turning point in this season when Warren had a heart to heart talk with the players, and since then they have played as a united team, no more moaning between them if something goes wrong, after that they had a circle hug before kick off, which was great to see, a proper team again, once their voice was heard.

James interview was another turning point, for the first time this season someone in the club was seeing and saying the things we have been saying for 6 months, there wasn't enough support for attacks, what had been going on for months was not acceptable (none of the fraudulent crap of "we are in a fantastic position") and it was up to the players to fix things.

So today the word that came to mind watching us was we were DETERMINED. We played like we had been bullied by opponents for months, and finally thought "I am not going to take this any more". 100% responsibility taken by the players.

This match was massive for both sides, they started off 2 points off a play off spot, so really needed the win, and were playing for it! We were 5 points off relegation spots, so equally needed the win for different reasons. But watching the match, I thought if a neutral was watching they wouldn't have been able to tell who was the higher placed team, as we were playing with all the defensive minded thinking switched off, and playing to our potential. Our guys not just tackling, but THROWING themselves into tackles, winning so many 50 / 50 balls, winning so many headers. I love sport when you get players fulfilling their potential, and every guy out there for us was doing their best. Bath were dangerous, you just knew if they broke through they could score, but we defended so well.

I believe fairs fair, going into this game we had won 1 / 12 which is crap, but in those 12 games we had only let in 15 goals, so we have been fine defensively, just set up too deep, too defensively to offer much in attack, so just scored 10 goals in those 12 games, which obviously is hopeless.

This division is so tight, we won, but are still only 6 points above relegation, so the hope is teams below run out of games to overtake us. With so many teams in the relegation mix goal difference could be decisive, we have a good one compared to others we are battling down there. And we moved up 3 places in the table, so great. Only 2 teams below us won today, and 1 drew, so a really good day for us as we increased the gap between us and 7 of the 9 teams below. I agree, maybe the bottom 3 are in serious trouble, and the 4th from bottom spot is the one we must avoid.

By now we know opposition managers are firing up their teams with team talks that we are full time, massive budget, so teams are so happy to beat us, and raise their game against us.

Although our loan keeper didn't have too much to do he looked quite commanding, maybe someone to bear in mind when Myles loan ends. With loan players one sees too little of them to have a strong view, but Daniel I think offers more than other striking options apart from Ade, so this hopefully settled attacking as a team and a sound striking partner for Ade gives real hope, as finally we are not doing the same thing that hasn't worked for 6 months, but have made changes and so are playing properly at last.

I believe luck and everything evens out over a season, we have conceded loads of late goals, so it is nice we actually got a late winning goal.

Maybe we have been so infected with the toxicity and negativity we have lost sight of what a really good performance this was, second one in a row, now the team has understood we don't just need to defend as a team, but also must attack as a team. The team have fixed that, they had that right in our golden spell, then forgot it (that inconsistency at our level that is actually true) so if we can just remember to play as a team going forward these players could finally fulfil their potential, and this season have a happy ending.

It was skilful, passing, not the usual hoofing, and a nice double, great performance, matched by a great result. Chippenham on Tuesday, 1 spot above us, then Hampton at home on Saturday 1 spot below us. But great today.

1st game since new year not great performance but win no matter how still counts.
I listened to feeney digging at his critics plus the usual blah blah blah.
Should be safe from relegation now.
Well done to the fans for today.

An improved performance no doubt about that. Still big concerns about our goal threat though. I was waiting for Bath to snatch a winner to be honest. Luckily that didnt happen. Manny Parry MOTM for me.

For once we had the rub of the green. When the Bath player Greenslade had a great chance he blazed it over the bar. The longer the game remained goalless it felt like another 0-1 defeat. The goal we scored was an own goal coming from a rebound off of the Bath goalkeeper. It was such a great feeling leaving the ground in a happy mood instead of walking past celebrating away fans. I thought Chi had a great game and Manny Parry too.

I must agree with Johnny Hartley on the comments he made.

I would like to add I think the team is always better when Taylor Maloney plays.

It was nice to see everyone pulling together and supporting the team. It has ended the nonsense I read after Taunton game that we would lose all our remaining games because all the teams are above us. Football doesn't work that way. Beating Bath proved that and besides some of them are below us now anyway. The only 2 fixtures I really fear are St Albans and Havant away because both are pushing for the play-off. Potentially, I believe we have a chance of winning the others, even Ebbsfleet because they will be champions by then and might be on their holidays. Games at this level can often go either way and I've always been confident we will get the points needed and are better than last season. I have previously said I think our defence is strong but our midfield and attack needed tweaking which is why I backed no change this late in the season and instead have stability and not a complete overall. We have enough in the locker to get over the line. In the summer everything can and should be reviewed to make sure there is unity and the club moves in the right direction.

A great performance from the whole team. I agreed, Rob Howard MOTM for me but every player put a shift in, played well, and played for the badge.

Well done Welling United and well done everyone connected with Welling United
